I have been dating the same guy (27 yo) for 2 and a half months and he hasn't dropped the "L" word. We spend a lot of our time together and I stay at his house often. I was hoping on valentines I would receive red roses but instead received a dozen yellow roses with red tips. Can someone help me out? What can I do to make gerberas last longer?
I buy gerberas from the supermarket all the time. They look great for the first 2 days then they begin to die. So they last me about 3-4days. I change the water frequently. I put the "plant food." I cut the stem diagonally and under water. I don't know what else to do. Is it because it’s from a supermarket and not a flower shop? What can I do to increase their life span?

we know it won't feed us for ever but least they were free.we are refering to growing toms in flower shop pot

Yes, you can grow tomatoes in pots. It would be best if you would use a large pot.
Here is something you might be interested in...buy a bag of vegetable potting soil. Cut the top and fold down, plant your tomato in the bag. Be sure to punch a few holes in the bottom so that water can drain. Don't forget to water your tomato plant.
You can also do this with potatoes.
It is a lot of fun.
